Clearview Butterfly Zoo is a product offered by parent company Swallowtail Farms in California. Swallowtail Farms was established in 1993 and was the first company to introduce the idea of releasing butterflies simply for enjoyment and in celebration of special events such as weddings, memorials, birthday parties, etc. Because of this, we have become known as the “Original Butterfly Company.”

Swallowtail Farms has been the leader in the industry with innovative and creative new products, including plantable paper that grows into wildflowers! We have also developed breakthrough technology in rearing butterflies to ensure they are healthy and strong.

Butterfly growing kits have been around for many years.  However, we have always felt that the current products available in this category just simply are not all that great. What you typically get are caterpillars in a cup, which is hard to view and they just seem too crowded and uncomfortable. So, we took on the challenge of improving upon something that has been around and done the same way for over 40 years.

Introducing the Clearview Butterfly Zoo! We are excited to offer the first truly new and innovative version of the traditional butterfly rearing kit. The caterpillars can be easily viewed and enjoyed in the clear butterfly growing house. You won’t miss out on any of the action! You will see them eat, grow, shed their skin, pupate, and emerge as a gorgeous Painted Lady butterfly, all inside the Butterfly Zoo.
